Many of our members are keen horticulturists and sometimes organize trips to gardens of interest. London gardens open under the yellow book scheme are very popular outings.
In May 2017 we are going to Lincolnshire. We will be visiting the following gardens - Barnsdale, The Moat, a 2.5 acre garden with island beds planted with unusual perennials, Mill Farm Garden which offers panoramic views across the Lincolnshire Wolds and Ancholme Valley, Hall Farm a cottage garden with a medieval moat at the bottom, Brightwater garden, A 21st century garden, and finally on Sunday Goltho gardens & Easton walled gardens.
Last year in conjuction with her local horticultural society one of our members organised a 4 day trip visiting private gardens in Cumbria. One of the highlights of this trip was a visit to the garden of renowned garden designer Arabella Lennox Boyd. 2015 saw a trip to the gardens of Hereford & Worcester with a visit to Roy Strong's garden, The Laskett as well as a day at the Malvern Flower Show.
Previous trips have included a 3 day trip to Ludlow & nearby gardens and to the Floriade and other gardens of Holland & Belgium.
