The Linguists group gives members who have at some time learned a foreign language a chance to use their knowledge in an informal, social environment.

All levels of speakers, including native speakers, are welcome to attend events which include meetings in restaurants, bars, picnics, Scrabble and singing evenings in the Organiser's flat in St. John's Wood as well as cultural events. There are currently meetings for German, French and Russian speakers on a monthly basis and members with knowledge of other languages are encouraged to host events. We ask that members restrict themselves to speaking the language in question at all events as to speak English destroys the objective of the group.

This must be one of the oldest groups in IVC and I have had the pleasure of organising it for many years.
